Nani. Hawaiian for beautiful.

Beautiful isn't how you look. It's how you live.

Inspired by the islands we love and born in the mountains we call home, Nani creates swimwear and apparel for women who live life outside. Thoughtfully designed for comfort, confidence, and adventure wherever the journey leads.

What we stand on

Three pillars. No shortcuts.

From sketch to shipment, every decision runs through the same three filters. They're not new — they're just non-negotiable.

Live Nani.

Nani means beautiful — but around here, beautiful has never been about being perfect. It's about saying yes to adventure, jumping in the water, and inviting someone along. The most beautiful lives are lived outside. Because beautiful isn't how you look — it's how you live. Nani is gear that supports a life fully lived.

  • Say yes to adventure
  • Find joy in the little things
  • Be kind and give back
  • Leave every place better than you found it

Thoughtfully Made

The best gear earns its place in your closet. We design versatile pieces that move from everyday life to your next adventure — so you can pack less and live more. Sustainability is a journey, not a finish line. We're not perfect, but we keep making better choices: more responsible materials, less waste, smarter decisions.

  • Versatile pieces designed for life in motion
  • OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics across all collections
  • A commitment to continuous, responsible improvement

Move Freely.

Gear that keeps up with real life. Before a piece earns the Nani name, it's tested where it matters — on the water, on the trail, everywhere in between. If we can't paddle, hike, swim, or chase a kid in it, it doesn't make the cut. Confidence starts with gear you don't have to think about.

  • Supportive coverage that stays put when adventure calls
  • UPF 50+ sun protection built into every swim style
  • Four-way stretch, quick-dry fabrics that move with you
By the numbers

Small team. Loud ripples.

We're still the same three founders and a tight crew — but the Girl Gang behind us is enormous.

nani Our story

Nani was born

Three friends, fed up with swimwear that slipped the second you moved, started nani — hand-packing the very first orders out of a basement.

A Letter to You From Us

Women Know What Women Want

We started Nani with nothing but Google, our savings accounts, and each other.

What we did have was a problem worth solving.

As an active teenager, Marissa couldn't find a swimsuit that fit the way she wanted to live. The options felt pretty simple: a string bikini that stayed put until you actually moved, or a full coverage one piece that felt more grandma's cruise than paddle board adventure.

There wasn't much in between.

She wanted coverage without feeling covered up. Support without sacrificing style. A swimsuit she could swim, hike, paddle board, and chase adventure in without constantly adjusting it.

Turns out, we weren't the only ones.

When Marissa teamed up with Amy and Janna, we realized we weren't solving a problem for just one woman. We were solving it for thousands of women who were tired of choosing between style, coverage, and performance.

So we built Nani around one simple belief:

Women Know What Women Want.

Not what trends say you should wear.

Not what the fashion industry says you should buy.

What real women actually reach for when they're headed to the beach, the lake, the trail, or anywhere adventure calls.

Every piece starts with one question:

Would we wear this ourselves?

If the answer isn't yes, we keep working.

From thoughtful fits and stay put support to size-inclusive styles and versatile adventure apparel, everything we create is designed to help women move freely and feel confident. We believe the best gear is the gear you stop thinking about the second your adventure begins.

We packed our first orders in a basement.

Today, Nani has grown into a nationally recognized women's swimwear and adventure apparel brand, but our mission hasn't changed. We still design thoughtfully made pieces for women who'd rather be outside than sitting still. Whether you're paddle boarding at sunrise, hiking to an alpine lake, exploring a new city, or spending the afternoon at the neighborhood pool, we want you thinking about the adventure—not your outfit.

The name Nani comes from the Hawaiian word meaning beautiful.

To us, beautiful has never been about perfection.

It's saying yes to the trip.

Jumping in the water.

Trying something new.

Helping a friend.

Taking the long way home.

Living fully.

That's what we mean when we say Live Nani.

We're so glad you're here.

Sustainability you can read in the seams.

Adventure and responsibility can go hand in hand. We're not perfect, but we're committed to choices that reduce our impact — starting with OEKO-TEX® certified fabrics tested for harmful substances, and a steady push to improve our materials and packaging as we grow.
